Operating Room Nurse at Sunnybrook Health Sciences

Become a vital part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Operating Room. You will assess, educate, and advocate for patients in a fast-paced surgical environment.
This role prioritizes patient-centered care as the primary focus of your responsibilities. You will be providing comprehensive care while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications include a current Ontario Registration, relevant post-graduate O.R. certificate, and recent operating room experience to ensure the highest care standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor Operating Room patients pre and post-surgery

• Educate patients and their families on care processes

• Advocate for patient needs throughout the surgical experience

• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team

• Ensure adherence to Aseptic Technique during procedures
Requirements:

• Current Ontario Registration with the College of Nurses

• Valid B.C.L.S. Certificate

• Completion of a post-graduate O.R. certificate

• Relevant physical assessment course completed

• Strong decision-making ability under stress
