PACU Registered Nurse at UHN

Join Toronto General Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the PACU, providing high-quality care for post-operative patients. This permanent part-time position offers a critical care environment focusing on patient recovery.
As a key member of the PACU team at UHN, the Registered Nurse will deliver compassionate and competent care following surgery. This role involves caring for high acuity in-patients and conducting full invasive monitoring. Your expertise in PACU practices, communication, and decision-making will significantly impact patient recovery, as you support approximately 7,500 surgical recoveries annually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide post-operative care for high-risk surgeries

• Conduct full monitoring and ventilation for patients

• Collaborate with an interprofessional team for patient-centered care

• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical nursing standards

• Deliver effective communication and patient support
Requirements:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification

• Two (2) years Medical/Surgical experience

• Critical Care Certificate program completion required

• Experience in a teaching institution preferred
