Visiting Wound Care Nurse; RN/RPN
Job Summary
Med Staff, a trusted leader in the health care community, is currently seeking a Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for our Community Visiting Nursing Program in the Greater Toronto Area.
Compensation: $43.10 - $60.00 per hour (based on certification) plus vacation pay and travel allowance. Full‑time and part‑time positions available. Paid continuing education sessions and in‑services are included.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with patients, families, caregivers, and other health care professionals to formulate a plan of care based on patient assessment.
- Provide nursing care to patients according to the written plan of care.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and adjust accordingly in consultation with the patient, family, caregiver, and other health care professionals.
- Act as a patient advocate by protecting and promoting patient rights.
- Promote patient safety and assist patients in living comfortably in their home environment.
- Share nursing knowledge and expertise with other health care providers.
- Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Certified Canada (WOCC) or International Interprofessional Wound Care Course Certification (IIWCC) required.
- One (1) year recent experience in the community.
- One (1) year recent NSWOC experience.
- Excellent problem‑solving, time‑management, and crisis‑resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Experience with information technology.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Second language considered an asset.
- Experience as a visiting nurse, visiting registered nurse, visiting registered practical nurse, and/or community nurse is an asset.
