Position Title: Clinical Coordinator, Operating Room Department
We are seeking a Clinical Coordinator for the Operating Room Department. The Coordinator will manage and monitor activities that promote clinically effective and efficient patient care, collaborate with the operating room interprofessional team, and coordinate cross‑departmental initiatives.
Employment Status: Permanent Full Time
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday (07:00‑15:00 and/or 11:00‑19:00) – subject to change as per Management Rights.
Location: Hennick Humber Hospital, Willson Site

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Operating Room & Cysto Suites
Position Responsibilities- Provide high‑quality, effective, efficient, and safe patient services through the management of human, environmental, and financial resources.
- Manage day‑to‑day processes in the Operating Room to enable the delivery of high‑quality services that meet patient needs and expectations.
- Organize and coordinate activities of the Operating Room and related clinical areas, including nursing and ancillary staff activities, in collaboration with Operating Room team members.
- Coordinate the scheduling of operating rooms and surgical cases and the daily staffing assignments for RNs, RPNs, OR Aides and Housekeeping.
- Work with the Manager and the CPL to facilitate staff support and development to achieve advanced clinical practice standards.
- Implement internal linkages and coordinate services in response to patient needs.
- Ensure that adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards is maintained by all staff.
- Provide leadership and consultation to staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of related projects and initiatives.
- Act as an expert resource to the clinical members of the Operating Rooms.
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
- A minimum of 3 years of peri‑operative services experience required.
- High level of recent clinical and technical knowledge related to the operating room.
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing or a related health discipline.
- Operating Room certification with the Canadian Nurses Association preferred.
- Ability to prioritize with proven problem‑solving and effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional practice standards and patient care needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attendance record and discipline‑free record required.
- Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.
