We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to join our team in long-term care facilities across the GTA this summer! Provide compassionate resident care, administer medications, monitor health conditions, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality of care. HERO CARE has a proven track record in providing our contract/travel nurses with a variety of exciting, positive and unique working experiences. Our team is now expanding our staffing services to provide contracts to Registered Practical Nurses across Canada!

• 1 year minimum experience required
• Licensed Practical Nursing license in good standing with the Provincial College of Nurses
• Current BCLS

• Patient care
• Head to toe assessment
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Patient/family education and instruction

• Plans and manages patient care according to each patient’s needs.
• Interviews patients and records their medical history and physical condition.
• Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
• Provides routine care for patients.
• Observes patients’ health.
• Reviews medical charts.
• Accompanies patients to their rooms.
• Assists physicians and registered nurses.
• Communicates with patients and their families.
• Performs standard diagnostic procedures including EKG, phlebotomy, venipuncture, PFT, and Doppler.
• Prepares specimens for lab courier.
• Administers medications.
• Provides wound care.
• Prepares and administers injections and/or enemas.
• Assists with patient comfort.
• Monitor catheters.

• Responsible for maintaining care standards
• Perform diagnostic tests
• Communicate with doctors and residents to keep everyone updated on test results and treatment recommendations
• Monitoring resident care

• Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
• Must provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check
• Must maintain Registered Practical Nurse class license with the Provincial College of Nurses
