Join the Geriatric Mental Health Program as a full-time Registered Practical Nurse at the Queen Street site.
This role offers opportunity for hands-on nursing in a team-oriented environment supporting older adults with mental health and addiction issues.
You will work in the Geriatric Admission Unit A, under the guidance of the GAU-A Manager and within an inter-professional team. Focused on client-centered care, your responsibilities include developing and evaluating care plans, performing mental status assessments, and maintaining client safety while upholding nursing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the primary nurse for client care planning
• Conduct behavioral observations and monitor medication responses
• Document assessments and findings accurately
• Provide education support and supervision to students
• Ensure compliance with safety and institutional standards
Requirements:
• Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current CPR and medication administration certification
• Knowledge in psychiatric nursing for older adults
• Effective intervention skills in clinical settings
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
