Perioperative Registered Nurse at Sunnybrook

Become a vital part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a Perioperative Registered Nurse in the Surgical Short Stay Unit. This temporary part-time role focuses on post-operative patient care, assessment, and education.

You will be responsible for the primary care of phase 2 recovery patients, adhering to College of Nurses standards and person-centered care. This role requires significant recent experience in post-surgical care along with acute care nursing certification. Flexibility to work across peri-anesthesia areas is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide assessments and interventions for post-operative patients

• Educate patients and advocate for their needs

• Monitor arterial lines and perform ECG assessments

• Collaborate within the multidisciplinary team for optimal care

• Ensure adherence to institutional mission and values

Requirements:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Significant experience in post-surgical care

• Completion of Acute Care Nursing Certification Course

• Experience in arterial line and ECG monitoring

• Flexibility in work assignments across areas
