Nurse Cardiovascular Care

Position: Full-Time Nurse for Cardiovascular Care
Support critical cardiac patients at Toronto General Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

This role offers a permanent, full-time position with comprehensive responsibilities.

As part of a dedicated team, you will engage with patients recovering from major surgeries. The CVICU is a dynamic unit, requiring expertise in managing critical care situations and supporting life-saving technologies like IABP. This position demands flexibility, commitment, and a strong skill set in cardiac nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and care for patients post-heart surgery

• Operate and monitor IABP and CVVHD apparatus

• Facilitate communication among healthcare providers

• Assist in the education of recovering patients

• Maintain physical demands set by unit standards

Requirements:

• Active RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ surgical nursing experience

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is a must

• Preferred:
Completion of a Critical Care course

• Exceptional interpersonal and clinical skills required
