Sunnybrook PACU Registered Nurse Position

Become a vital part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a PACU Registered Nurse, focusing on the care of surgical patients.

Your role will involve patient advocacy and support through all recovery phases.

In the PACU, you will deliver direct care to patients recovering from surgery, ensuring adherence to best practices in person-centred care. This role emphasizes collaboration within an interdisciplinary team and applying critical thinking to uphold patient safety and recovery. You will need to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients in phase 1 and 2 recovery

• Advocate for patient needs and preferences

• Collaborate with team members to ensure comprehensive care

• Maintain infection control and safety practices

• Document patient progress and care interventions

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario RN registration

• At least 2 years of relevant post-surgical experience

• Critical Care Course completion required

• IV and venipuncture certification necessary

• Flexibility to support patient flow
