As Canada’s premier research hospital, UHN is in search of a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Geriatric Emergency Medicine. The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in nursing, a gerontology certificate, and five years of acute care experience. This role emphasizes collaboration, advanced clinical decision-making, and the promotion of nursing practices to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough gerontological evaluations and follow-up care
• Coach and develop nursing staff in patient care techniques
• Undertake quality improvement and administrative responsibilities
• Facilitate research projects and education programs
• Serve as a consultant for interdisciplinary teams
Requirements:
• Completion of master’s degree in nursing
• Preferred specialty in gerontology
• At least five years in an acute care environment
• Knowledge of nursing research methodologies
• Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
