Job Overview:

The Registered Nurse will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality clinical and surgical care within our fertility clinic. As part of a collaborative team that includes physicians, embryologists, and other clinical professionals, the RN will support all aspects of patient care, with particular focus on third-party reproduction and regulatory compliance.

This role provides an exciting opportunity for a nurse with an interest in fertility and/or experience in third-party reproduction to refine and develop best practices, while delivering personalized patient support throughout the fertility journey.

Responsibilities:
Clinical Care & Patient Support:
  • Educate and support patients throughout fertility treatment cycles, including intrauterine insemination (IUI), IVF, and third-party pathways (donor sperm, donor egg, and gestational carriers).
  • Teach and administer SC and IM injections, initiate IVs, and provide medication instruction and counselling.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care related to IVF and other procedures, including recovery and sedation monitoring.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, including performing intrauterine insemination (IUI) as directed.
  • Rotate through various clinical roles: OR, recovery, sedation, and cycle monitoring.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and foster a compassionate, inclusive environment.
Third Party Nursing & Compliance:
  • Provide expert guidance to patients navigating third-party reproduction, including regulatory, procedural, and emotional aspects.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Health Canada’s Safety of Sperm and Ova Regulations and apply them to clinical practice.
  • Collaborate with the Lab Director and leadership team to refine third-party protocols, develop standard operating procedures, and enhance regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to staff training and competency development for third-party processes, ensuring consistency and adherence to current standards and legislation.
  • Assist with documentation, risk communication, and procedural oversight for third-party cases, including donor and gestational carrier cycles.
Administrative & Operational Duties:
  • Act as liaison between patients and physicians, facilitating timely communication and coordinated care.
  • Manage medication ordering, dispensing, and inventory in alignment with CPSO requirements.
  • Schedule surgical procedures and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies and submit orders as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ medical/surgical experience required.
  • Prior experience in fertility nursing and/or third-party reproduction strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding or interest in Health Canada’s Safety of Sperm and Ova Regulations.
  • ACLS certification.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and ongoing professional development.
  • Computer literacy and EMR familiarity required.
  • Positive, team-based mindset with a flexible and proactive attitude.
