Surgical Registered Practical Nurse

Position: Surgical Registered Practical Nurse Role

This position requires an experienced RPN skilled in pre-operative and post-operative care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment abilities and organizational skills to deliver excellent patient support. You will work collaboratively with RNs to ensure patient-centered care in a dynamic medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct physical and psychological assessments for surgical patients

• Provide pre-operative instruction to prepare patients for surgery

• Assist in mobilization, transfers, and ambulation of patients

• Deliver post-operative health education focusing on recovery

• Collaborate closely with nursing staff to ensure patient care quality

Requirements:

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses

• Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing

• 1-2 years of recent surgical experience

• Certification in BCLS, venipuncture IV, and medication administration

• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
