Advance your nursing career as a part-time Registered Practical Nurse in the Forensic General Unit C at CAMH, located in Toronto. This on-site role emphasizes recovery-oriented care for individuals facing mental health challenges.
As a member of a dedicated interprofessional team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care based on the guidelines of the Ontario College of Nurses. This role involves developing individualized care plans for clients with complex needs, engaging in monitoring and documentation, and contributing to court and regulatory compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver psychiatric nursing care aligned with recovery models
• Collaborate on care plans among diverse client backgrounds
• Engage in client safety assessments and risk management
• Support the training of nursing students within the unit
• Prepare court documents and ORB reports as required
Requirements:
• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing in Ontario
• Certification in basic life support and medication administration
• Profound knowledge of forensic psychiatric principles
• Experience with multi-cultural client interactions
• Bilingual skills valued but not mandatory
