Registered Nurse, Medical Imaging
We’re looking for a Registered Nurse to work in our Medical Imaging Department.
Employment Status: Temporary Full Time
Duration: January 30, 2026 (subject to change)
Hours of Work: 8 hour rotating shifts on weekdays, evenings, nights and/or weekends. On call rotation required - subject to change.
Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site
Labour Group: ONA
Reporting Relationship: Manager, Medical Imaging
Hourly Rate: $41.15–$58.98
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive patient assessments prior to imaging procedures and provide patient education regarding procedures, risk, and post-procedure care within scope.
- Continuously monitor and document vital signs, cardiac rhythm, oxygenation, and level of consciousness during procedures. Administer medications as ordered.
- Assist physicians and technologists during interventional radiology/cardiology, CT‑guided, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy procedures.
- Monitor patient recovery from sedation and medication administration. Assess procedural sites and manage complications.
- Provide discharge instructions and patient family education. Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
- Recognize and respond to adverse reactions (e.g., respiratory distress, contrast reactions, etc.). Initiate emergency protocols and life‑saving measures as needed.
- Work collaboratively within the Medical Imaging Team (e.g., technologists, radiologists and clerical staff) and inter‑professional team external to the Medical Imaging department (CCAC, Nursing Homes, Dialysis, Cardiology, Oncology, etc).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing required.
- Recent experience in Medical Imaging, ICU/Critical Care, Emergency Room, and Pre‑Operative Surgery (Operating Room & Recovery Room) required.
- Current BCLS certification required. ACLS preferred.
- Coronary Care I & II, Operating Room, Recovery Room and/or Critical Care course/certificate preferred.
- Proficient ECG interpretation required.
- Proficiency in initiating IV therapy, IV push meds, including IV sedation and venipuncture required.
- Previous experience with arterial and central lines preferred.
- Demonstrate commitment to professional development and a strong knowledge of policy and practice standards.
- Demonstrate patient/family teaching and patient assessment skills. Related patient assessment course is preferred.
- Demonstrate Patient Centered Care Values through excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to function as part of a team in a rapidly changing environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and flexibility.
- Excellent attendance and discipline‑free record required.
- Some Medical Imaging procedures occur with radiation and have a requirement to wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, lead.
