Toronto police service has announced the recruitment of candidates for the post of Nurse. They’re looking for the most deserving and eligible candidates for this post. Candidates working in this post are responsible for the review of medical files for attendance management and return-to-work planning.
They are also appointed to participate in and prepare for complex case management meetings related to disability management, communicable disease exposure and accommodation.
Candidates are also appointed to develop and deliver education programs to inform staff of occupational health and safety, healthy workplace and individual well-being programs.
They are also appointed to monitor and administer vaccination programs and communicable disease illness surveillance protocols.
Candidates will also have to act as a designated officer for communicable disease information or follow-up and liaison with Public Health regarding communicable disease exposures.
Candidates are also appointed to perform typical duties inherent to the position.
Job requirement    Candidates must be Registered Nurses or Registered Practical Nurses and have an Occupational Health Nursing Certificate to be eligible for this post.
Candidates must be certified in Occupational Health Nurse Designation to be eligible for this post.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience in Occupational Health Care Nursing.
They must have a valid Standard First Aid & CPR-HCP to be eligible for this post.
Candidates must have current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Current OOHNA membership to get preferred for this post.
Candidates must possess excellent judgment and problem-solving skills to manage high-risk and complex situations.
They must demonstrate knowledge and experience in disability case management, including WISB, LTD and STD.
Candidates must attain the ability to provide preventative intervention knowledge to eliminate or reduce industry-related injury and illness.
They must have excellent interpersonal skills are required to effectively deal with all levels of the Service, as well as outside agencies.
Work setting    Candidates must have the ability to interpret statistical data and recommend procedures to formalize a course of action.
