Registered Practical Nurse - Foot Care Nurse
We are seeking a part‑time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with Advanced Foot Care Certification to work in the Central and Toronto Central regions. This program delivers specialized foot care services to clients in community clinics, long‑term care homes, and home‑based settings. The role involves providing comprehensive foot care with an emphasis on prevention, treatment, and ongoing management. You will work closely with clients to maintain healthy feet and prevent complications through regular visits and individualized care.
A valid Ontario G2 or G driver’s licence and reliable vehicle access are required.
Pay Range
Rate: $26.60 – $32.54 per visit (placement on salary range as per Collective Agreement)
Estimated annual earning potential: $70,000–$120,000 (actual earnings may vary based on availability and service volumes)
- Assess, monitor, and plan care and coordinate interventions.
- Evaluate care‑plan interventions through ongoing reassessment and evaluation results.
- Ensure the quality of patient care by identifying and acting on factors that affect practice autonomy and delivery of quality care.
- Demonstrate professionalism, leadership, judgement, and accountability in interactions with clients and families.
- Support safe client care through the development of knowledge and skills in accordance with continuous quality improvement principles.
- Inform the nursing supervisor of any client activities, relevant concerns, or changes in the client’s condition or care plan, and submit appropriate documentation to the case coordinator.
- Maintain documentation standards according to the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Participate in team meetings as required during stated availability.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Membership of a professional association preferred (e.g., WeRPN).
- RPN diploma from a recognised college.
- Valid Advanced Foot Care Certificate from a public‑funded college or university.
- Completion of Advanced Foot Care Certification from Ruth Ruttan & Associates, Foot Canada Training, or Universal Health Hub accepted.
- Knowledge of the CAFCN – National Competencies for Advanced Nursing Foot Care in Canada guidelines preferred.
- Worked a minimum of 100 hours as a Foot Care Nurse.
- Valid First Aid or CPR Certification.
- Knowledge of community nursing an asset.
- Experience in foot care and gerontological nursing an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Word an asset.
- Demonstrate effective communication (written and verbal) and documentation skills.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and availability for the role.
- Commitment to modelling lifelong learning and professional growth and apply critical thinking skills to provide client care.
- Successful completion of the Physical Readiness Test (PRT) to ensure safe work practices are followed (transfers, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling).
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence (G2 or G) and reliable vehicle for travel required.
