About the Opportunity
We are looking to develop expertise in harm reduction, supervised consumption services (SCS), and complex medical nursing in a modern, purpose-built, light‑filled inpatient facility. Currently, we have an opportunity for one (1) Registered Nurse (SCS and Inpatient support) to join our team on a contract, part‑time basis (until March 31, 2027). This is a unionized position (OPSEU Local 501).

Hours of Work
Weekend day shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 10 AM‑6 PM), with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts on the Inpatient unit. This is a fully on‑site position.

Outpatient Clinical Manager

Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse at Casey House supporting SCS and Inpatient services, you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide compassionate, values‑driven care for 14 patients with diverse and complex health needs.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is assigned to provide coverage to the outpatient supervised consumption service (SCS) on weekend day shifts. They provide safe, evidence‑informed, trauma‑informed, and person‑centered nursing care to adults living with and at risk of HIV. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, overdose response, stabilization, symptom management, and care coordination in collaboration with harm reduction workers and the interprofessional team.

In support of coordinated weekend operations, the RN will also provide nursing support to the inpatient unit, as required, while remaining available to respond promptly to overdoses and other urgent clinical situations within the SCS. The RN practices in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards, applicable legislation, organizational policies, and the hospital’s mission, values, and model of care.

Provide nursing coverage on weekend day shifts, with primary assignment to the supervised consumption service;

Provide nursing support to the inpatient unit, as required, while remaining available to respond to overdoses and other urgent clinical situations within the SCS;

Perform comprehensive nursing assessments; develop, implement, and evaluate care plans; and provide direct nursing care to clients with complex medical, psychosocial, and substance use‑related needs;

Assess and respond to overdoses, intoxication, withdrawal, and other urgent health concerns within the supervised consumption service, including initiating emergency interventions, administering naloxone as appropriate, monitoring clinical response, and escalating care when indicated;

Collaborate effectively with harm reduction workers, unregulated care providers, and the broader interprofessional team to support overdose prevention, safer substance use practices, client monitoring, and continuity of care;

Provide nursing assessment and intervention for inpatient clients, including changes in clinical status, symptom management, medication‑related concerns, palliative care needs, wound care, rehabilitation support, and mental health needs, as required;
