Michael Garron Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse in East Toronto to deliver comprehensive care to individuals experiencing substance use issues. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for assessments and support in a 24/7 facility.
As a Registered Nurse, you will work within an interprofessional team, providing essential assessments for mental health and substance use. You will engage in the stabilization of patients and assist in developing individualized care pathways. This role emphasizes evidence-based practices, requiring a BScN and ideally a certification in Psychiatric Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct mental health and substance use assessments
• Stabilize patients experiencing acute withdrawal
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals for care planning
• Share knowledge and mentorship with colleagues
• Promote patient-centered and family-focused care
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years in mental health and addiction nursing
• Competent in medical nursing and health assessments
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• BScN required, psychiatric nursing certification preferred
• Commitment to a safe and inclusive environment
