Sunnybrook Health PACU Nurse Position

Elevate your nursing career with Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a PACU Nurse, focusing on post-operative patient care. This temporary full-time role blends critical intervention, patient education, and support in a collaborative environment.

You will play a vital role in the recovery of patients following surgery, navigating phases 1 and 2 of their healing process. A minimum of 2 years in post-surgical care and a Critical Care Course are essential prerequisites for this position that values person-centered care. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee primary care in post-operative recovery phases

• Conduct patient assessments and necessary interventions

• Deliver education to patients regarding their recovery

• Serve as a proactive patient advocate throughout the process

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff for optimal care

Requirements:

• 2+ years of recent surgical care experience

• Critical Care Course and PACU expertise necessary

• Certification in Venipuncture and IV management

• Must hold current Ontario Registration and BCLS certification

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
