Reporting to Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning and implementing nursing care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family‑centred environment. The Registered Nurse will handle personal care, vital signs, physical assessment, medication administration, IV monitoring, telemetry monitoring, and equipment setup, along with other assigned duties. You will participate in continuous educational opportunities and workshops to further your learning.
You will bring your passion for cardiac nursing to the department while advocating for patients and their families.
- New to Cardiology Nursing? Your orientation will be customized and followed by a meeting with your educator to ensure all learning goals are met.

- Registered Nurse certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
- BCLS certification.
- ACLS certification or willingness to complete the in‑house ACLS course.
- Coronary Care 1 course from a recognized institution, or commitment to complete the course within 6 months of hire.
- Successful completion of the in‑house arrhythmia quiz during orientation or within 6 weeks of the Coronary Care 1 course.
- Current experience in acute medical or cardiovascular nursing with telemetry experience or recent clinical placement.
- Proven competency in IV initiation and post‑procedure monitoring/assessment.
- Initiative and ability to work independently and as a multidisciplinary team member in a fast‑paced environment.
- Understanding and commitment to SHN’s safety programs, including staff, patient and environmental safety, and participation in regular in‑service education.
- Values consistent with SHN’s Code of Conduct and commitment to fostering a healthy, positive work environment in accordance with health and safety policy.
- Ethical conduct and appreciation for the diversity of SHN’s patient, staff and community populations.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
- Excellent work performance and attendance.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
- Ability to speak another language.
