This role requires a Registered Nurse with 2-5 years of experience in managing patients with moderate to advanced dementia. You will provide comprehensive care, implement treatment plans, educate families, and actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings. Your leadership in mentoring students and staff is vital to improving patient outcomes in this specialized unit.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate professional nursing care for dementia patients
• Educate families and community providers on dementia care
• Engage in inter-professional care planning and discussions
• Mentor new staff in geriatric rehabilitation practices
• Uphold patient safety and compliance protocols
Requirements:
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 3-5 years in geriatric patient care preferred
• Experience in Geriatric Psychiatry or Medicine is a plus
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support required
• Excellent clinical and communication skills essential
