As a Registered Nurse at Michael Garron Hospital, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric nursing care on the acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit. Your expertise in assessment, group therapy, and discharge planning will enhance patient experiences and recovery journeys. The position requires flexibility and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide psychiatric care assessments for patients and families

• Facilitate group therapies and coordinate discharge plans

• Support care in the Mental Health Emergency Assessment Zone

• Implement trauma-informed and person-centred approaches

• Maintain high standards in mental health evaluations

Requirements:

• Current RN certification from Ontario's College of Nurses

• Minimum 1 year of Mental Health Nursing experience

• Excellent skills in assessment and intervention techniques

• Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and psychotropic medication

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
