Position: Sunnybrook Health Surgery Practical Nurse
Become part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as a Surgery Registered Practical Nurse, dedicated to pre-operative and post-operative patient care. Your clinical assessment capabilities will ensure excellent support for patients during critical phases.

We are seeking an RPN with hands-on surgical experience who excels in high-pressure environments. You will play a key role in physical and psychological assessments, preparing patients for their surgical procedures, while providing crucial post-operative guidance. This position champions the philosophy of Person-Centred Care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer thorough assessments before and after surgeries

• Guide patients through pre-operative instructions and preparation

• Offer support with mobilization, transfers, and ambulation

• Educate patients on recovery processes and pain management

• Partner with RNs to uphold patient-centered care principles

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario College of Nurses Registration

• RPN diploma and BCLS certification mandatory

• Recent surgical experience of 1-2 years required

• Certified in venipuncture and proficient in phlebotomy

• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving skills needed
