The Mental Health Emergency Services Unit (MHESU) at Unity Health is looking for a skilled Registered Nurse. This position involves urgent mental health assessments and active stabilization of patients in crisis. You will work collaboratively to recommend appropriate dispositions while ensuring patient dignity and care continuity. A commitment to ongoing professional development is key for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and stabilize patients presenting with mental health crises
• Provide transitional care and support
• Collaborate effectively with Emergency Department staff
• Engage in continuous professional development and education
• Incorporate evidence-based practices in patient care
Requirements:
• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 2 years recent mental health nursing experience required
• C.N.A Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing or commitment to complete
• Non-Violent Crisis Prevention training within 3 months
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
