The Mental Health Emergency Services Unit (MHESU) is a vital part of Unity Health Toronto, focusing on crisis intervention and stabilization of patients with mental health challenges. As a Registered Nurse, you will be pivotal in conducting assessments and providing comprehensive nursing care. This role requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform rapid mental health assessments and interventions

• Stabilize patients in emergency settings

• Provide direct transitional care and support

• Collaborate with emergency department and psychiatric teams

• Uphold patient dignity and family involvement in care

Requirements:

• Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Minimum of 2 years acute care mental health experience

• Ability to acquire C.N.A Certificate in Psychiatric Nursing

• Current BLS/CPR certification required

• Effective critical thinking and patient engagement skills
