Planned Parenthood Toronto (PPT) is looking for a Nurse Practitioner (RN – Extended Class). This role will be part of both our general practice and a core member of our Black Health Team, an initiative that is dedicated to improving access to inclusive, community-driven primary and sexual and reproductive health care for Black youth, young people and other birthing folks across Toronto.

The NP works as part of an interdisciplinary clinical care team providing primary healthcare to equity-deserving youth from across Toronto. As a core member of our Black Health team, you’ll help break down systemic barriers by providing holistic, trauma-informed care that centers Black youth, particularly those navigating intersecting oppress ions related to race, gender identity, and socioeconomic status. The work of the Black Health team is rooted in reproductive justice principles, working to decrease the systemic barriers and reproductive trauma Black youth experience.

We are flexible! While this position can be full-time, we need the NP in this position to work a minimum of 15 hours per week – making this a great employment opportunity for someone interested in working part-time.

The Black Health team aims to:

• Expand early access to culturally responsive sexual and reproductive health services through youth-focused clinics in downtown Toronto, North York and Scarborough.
• Improve health literacy and empower Black youth (including Black non-binary, and trans youth) with tools to navigate chronic conditions like endometriosis, PMOS, fibroids, HIV/STBBIs, and mental health challenges.
• Build supportive networks through the leadership of our Black Youth Advisory Committee and partnerships with agencies like Black Creek CHC, TAIBU, and North York Women’s Shelter.
• Connect youth to holistic care, offering seamless attachment or referral to primary and specialized services.

In this role, the Nurse Practitioner (RN – Extended Class) will provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and gender-affirming primary care to youth aged 13-29, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and gender-affirming clinical services. The ideal candidate brings a strong equity lens and clinical expertise rooted in reproductive justice, understands the systemic barriers faced by Black youth and communities, and is committed to delivering inclusive, anti-oppressive care.

PPT is also committed to support NP learning - this position is an excellent opportunity to build your skills related to IUD and Implant insertions/removals, Medical Abortion, and Gender Affir­ming Care.

This position is part of Planned Parenthood Toronto’s Black Health team – an initiative focused on improving access, engagement, and health outcomes for Black youth through community partnerships, integrated services, and evidence-based approaches.
