Registered Nurse, Emergency Department

Are you an experienced pediatric or emergency nurse with a passion for nursing, and a dedication to providing high-quality patient care? The Emergency Department is recruiting outstanding nurses to fill the role of Emergency Nurse. As an emergency practitioner, you will provide care and support to patients and families as they experience illness and injury.

Education

Eight weeks of new hire orientation - four weeks of ED-specific classroom learning combined with small group learning inside the ED, followed by four weeks of preceptorship.
Emergency Response training after six months
Trauma Nurse Leader training after one year
Team Lead training after one year
Triage nurse training after 18 months

Here's What You'll Need

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
Experience in emergency nursing; pediatric emergency nursing is a strong asset
Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment
Demonstrated resilience in a range of complex and demanding situations
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to collaborate constructively
