Registered Nurse Cardiac Surgery

Apply cardiac surgery expertise as a Registered Nurse at Toronto General Hospital, using cardiac monitoring and clinical decision-making. This temporary full-time assignment includes rotating 12-hour days and nights.
UHN seeks a Registered Nurse for Vascular & Cardiovascular Surgery, reporting to the Nurse Manager. You will provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent care within UHN’s Professional Practice Model. The position requires cardiac surgery experience, pacemaker management, arrhythmia interpretation, and ongoing cardiac nursing education.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide compassionate, collaborative, and competent nursing care
Apply nursing science, theory, skills, and critical decision-making
Maintain practice under professional standards and ethical frameworks
Participate in continuing education activities
Evaluate and modify practice to improve patient care
Requirements:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
Minimum one year of cardiac surgery experience
One year cardiac monitoring experience, including pacemakers and arrhythmias
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Bring cardiac nursing knowledge, monitoring expertise, and collaborative practice to UHN’s Vascular & Cardiovascular Surgery department.
