Part Time Licensed Practical Nurse

Licensed Practical Nurses support quality nursing practice at Extendicare St. Paul in Alberta, following established standards, orders, and policies.

This part time RPN/LPN position supports residents and patients through assessment, monitoring, documentation, and care planning. The successful candidate applies nursing and health care practices, infection control knowledge, and physicians’ orders. Experience with cognitively impaired individuals and seniors is relevant.

• Provide care according to nursing standards and physicians’ orders
• Observe, report, and record vital signs and conditions
• Assist with patient and resident assessments
• Develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans
• Process physicians’ orders and assess referral needs

• Current certificate of competence from the approved provincial institution
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the approved institution
• Experience dealing with cognitively impaired individuals
• Knowledge of nursing, health care, and infection control practices
• Commitment to working with seniors and strong organizational skills
