Bring psychiatric nursing expertise to Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, supporting comprehensive care across inpatient mental health and emergency assessment services.
This Registered Nurse provides care within an acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit and the MHEAZ of the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include patient and family assessment, group therapies, discharge planning, and coordination. The RN may also work across other mental health services and programs according to operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care
- Assess patients and families across mental health services
- Facilitate group therapies
- Coordinate discharge planning
- Work in inpatient and emergency mental health settings
- Current Ontario College of Nurses registration
- At least one year of recent mental health nursing experience
- Knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing processes
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and reform
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
