Support complex surgical care at Toronto General Hospital as a Registered Practical Nurse with operating room experience and perioperative training.
UHN seeks a Registered Practical Nurse for its 21-theatre Operating Room department. The permanent full-time position serves adult inpatient and outpatient patients across cardiovascular, thoracic, transplant, oncology, and other surgical services. Nurses document perioperative care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support patient- and family-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to patient assessment processes
- Implement care plans and provide limited interventions
- Act as a patient advocate
- Perform assigned scrub nurse duties
- Attend seminars and workshops for professional growth
- Recognized Operating Room Perioperative course completion
- Two to four years of current Operating Room experience
- Registered Practical Nursing program completion
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
