Animal Attendant at UHN's ARC

UHN seeks a dedicated Animal Attendant for the Animal Resource Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital. This role involves ensuring animal health and supporting research needs on a casual basis.

In this permanent casual position, you will be responsible for the care and husbandry of animals under the supervision of the facility manager. Key tasks include maintaining cleanliness in various areas, sterilizing equipment, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Your role is integral to the well-being of animals in a leading research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean animal rooms and preparation areas

• Wash and sterilize equipment effectively

• Maintain support areas like corridors and labs

• Monitor and report animal health as needed

• Follow all SOPs and operational guidelines

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Up to one year of relevant experience

• Knowledge of laboratory practices

• Ability to lift 50 lbs

• Experience in a laboratory animal facility preferred
