Position: Full-Time Veterinary Technologist II Role
Join the University of Toronto Scarborough as a full-time Veterinary Technologist II, focusing on laboratory animal care and specialized research support. This position is key for those passionate about animal welfare and research innovation.

As part of the UTSC Animal Facilities team, you will provide critical technical services and maintain high standards of care for laboratory animals. Your responsibilities include managing breeding colonies, performing complex procedures, and training personnel in essential husbandry techniques. We are dedicated to an inclusive environment that supports diversity in research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee specialized husbandry for animal health and breeding

• Conduct anesthesia and collect samples for analysis

• Maintain specialized containment and safety equipment

• Teach and instruct others in animal care practices

• Develop solutions for breeding challenges

Requirements:

• Graduate of a veterinary technology or related program

• Preferably one year of laboratory animal experience

• Certification as a Registered Laboratory Animal Technician is a plus

• Physically fit to handle lifting of up to 50 lbs

• Proficiency in English, both written and oral
