Join our Mission to Lead the Future of Snacking. Make It With Pride. Ensures effective deployment of MDLZ risk based Food Safety management program from design to execution covering Internal Manufacturers, External Manufacturers, Suppliers and Trade Mark Licensing agreements.
How You Will Contribute- Support BU’s operation to Global Quality Policies and capture operational feedback to keep them up to date.
- Deploy Food Safety programs in area of responsibility (BU/Category/Corporate).
- Ensure Risk Assessment is employed as the key decision‑making approach for Product, Process and Package Design Safety.
- Conduct risk‑based Food Safety verification for Suppliers, internal/external plants and warehouses.
- Support effective management of operational Food Safety challenges at factories, including disposition decision‑making based on risk assessment and advice on risk management interactions with authorities.
- Influence and partner with cross‑functional peers, effectively communicating how Food Safety supports our company values.
- Implement a Food Safety culture across the organization.
- Proven track record of delivering risk based Food Safety Programs to drive commercial outcomes, ideally within FMCG environment.
- Ability to influence Food Safety strategy by providing operational observations and practical input that translates into significant business benefit.
- Collaborator who can land the agenda through working effectively across functions, geographies, and with partners both internal and external.
- A culture of restless curiosity and a continuous improvement mentality.
- An internal network that allows for effective communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement.
Education / Certifications
- Four year college degree in agriculture or science related field, preferably BS or MS in Microbiology, Food Safety, Food Science, Engineering, or related field.
Job specific requirements
- Provide leadership and expertise in Pest Control, Sanitation standards, Allergen management, and Extraneous Matter prevention.
- Strong technical foundation and knowledge of HACCP and Microbiology programs (GMP, Pathogen Environmental Monitoring, Quality policies, etc.).
- Lead sanitary design through direct involvement with project teams or by providing guidance to plant projects.
- Sound product safety knowledge (understanding of microbiology) / food technology across product portfolio.
- Strong auditing, assessment, and problem‑solving skills.
Travel requirements 10% of work schedule.
Work schedule
- Regular business hours M‑F (Hybrid).
- Expected to visit manufacturing sites approximately twice a week.
The expected base salary range for this position is $84,500 to $105,650 CAD depending on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible to participate in a highly competitive bonus program with a target of 8% with the possibility for over achievement based on performance and company results.
