Position: Senior Systems TestingQA Specialist )

We are seeking a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to join our team in Toronto.

This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions through rigorous testing methodologies.

You will act as a key collaborator between business stakeholders and development teams, analyzing complex requirements and executing comprehensive test strategies ranging from manual verification to automated CI/CD pipeline integration.

Location:

Toronto, ON (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 15-month contract with potential for contract extension.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day (Standard business hours).
Rate: $414-$451.98/diem.

Responsibilities
  • Test Strategy & Execution:
    Participate in requirements walkthroughs, develop comprehensive system test plans, and create detailed test suites and cases to ensure full coverage.
  • Requirements Analysis:
    Analyze business documentation, including use cases, user stories, and non-functional requirements to design effective validation strategies.
  • Database & Data Validation:
    Perform data analysis and verify system results using SQL; analyze test databases to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Test Automation:
    Develop and execute automated testing scripts using tools such as Selenium or similar platforms to integrate seamlessly into CI/CD Dev Ops pipelines.
  • Defect Management:
    Analyze and log test results, monitor defect resolution through automated management systems, and report progress to project leadership.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Verify actual system results against expected outcomes; provide expert recommendations on the acceptance or rejection of software components.
  • Knowledge Transfer:
    Provide mentorship and training to internal staff, fostering a culture of quality assurance excellence.
  • Stakeholder Reporting:
    Prepare weekly status reports on progress, key issues, and risks to ensure project transparency.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

    7+ years of professional experience in system testing within complex environments.
  • Agile Proficiency: 5+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, backlog management, and supporting team ceremonies.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Strong proficiency in SQL for database analysis and experience utilizing automated testing tools such as Selenium and Rational Functional Tester.
  • CI/CD Expertise:
    Hands‑on experience with automated testing tools within CI/CD Dev Ops pipelines.
  • Analytical Capability:
    Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into detailed, maintainable test plans.
  • Troubleshooting:
    Demonstrated ability to analyze, debug, and resolve complex system issues.
  • Communication:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, DBAs, business analysts, and project managers.
  • Public Sector Context:
    Previous experience working in the public sector or on mid‑tier/legacy platforms is highly desirable.
