Position Overview:Forum is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Real Estate Development, to play an impactful role within Forum’s largest and growing platform – its real estate business. With its focus on owning and developing (i) High turnover rental housing such as purpose-built student accommodations (PBSA) and furnished rentals (ii) Self-storage facilities and (iii) Commercial assets secured by credit tenant leases – Forum’s real estate business is poised for growth notwithstanding the challenging macro environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting real estate development projects from potential acquisitions, including assisting with due diligence (DD), analysis of planning policy, building massing, and active development sites across Ontario.
- Assist with the coordination of multi-disciplinary consultant teams, including planners, architects, engineers, and legal consultants, which includes meeting coordination, agendas, and minutes.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis, with particular focus on supply, demand, and policy-driven development capacity.
- Coordinate formatting and preparation of documents for internal and external reporting, including RFP submissions, Investment Committee (IC) decks, planning and advocacy presentations, and materials for municipal and provincial review.
- Assist in budget and timeline updates, including tracking approvals-related costs, consultant contracts, invoicing, and adherence to municipal submission requirements.
- Assist in the review of consultant proposals, planning materials, and legal agreements related to land use approvals and development conditions.
- Manage project invoicing and evaluate consultant and vendor requests to ensure continued project delivery through the approvals and development process.
- Represent the company at public meetings, community engagement sessions, statutory consultations, and other stakeholder forums.
- Monitor and research provincial and municipal planning policies, relevant precedents, and market trends in Ontario to assess project feasibility and preserve asset value.
- Actively identify and address planning, policy, and approvals-related project roadblocks, collaborating with internal teams, consultants, and municipal stakeholders to improve processes and outcomes.
- Support the Development Team by tracking and monitoring changes in planning policy, legislation, and general real estate development trends in Ontario.
