The Laboratory of Behavioral Neuroendocrinology at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Analyst to join our team reporting to the lab manager within the group. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for: preclinical work (behavioral testing, drug injection and administration, sample collection and processing, of both mice and rats), and basic wet lab research work in a busy lab environment.
The successful candidate will work with a large scientific team, interacting with scientists, post-doctoral fellows, research coordinators, technician, analysts and assistants. You will require strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively and strategically with a variety of programs as well as staff. Responsibilities will include performing behavioral assays such as elevated plus maze, touchscreen assays, forced swim test, Morris Water Maze, etc.
and working chronic stress paradigms in both sexes, and performing molecular assays such as immunohistochemistry (IHC) and electrochemiluminsecence assays. There will be work related to lab maintenance occasionally, such as contributions to protocols, manuscripts, ordering and inventory, colony management and animal husbandry. The position requires the person to work collaboratively with members of the lab and the preclinical facility and will entail participating in performing general lab duties.
