Position: Research Project Manager I

JOB SUMMARY

Research Project Manager I will work on multiple projects within CMWH. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator of the assigned projects but must be able to work independently and effectively to produce high quality research, documents, communication and overall project management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop search strategies and conduct literature searches in conjunction with informational specialist
  • Provides reliable literature, evidence and references for the proposals and papers
  • Performs systematic reviews and synthesis of clinical research evidence
  • Screens the retrieved literature and assess the quality of eligible studies by using the appropriate tools
  • Develops relevant data extraction forms and collect the required information
  • Manages and develops the project timelines and deliverables of multiple projects in collaboration with other team members
  • Supports in development of funding Agreements, project charters, project goals and budget
  • Communicate with principal investigators on a regular and consistent basis to ensure they are apprised of project status, progress, issues, and timelines
  • Creates and maintains financial reporting for all projects and reports this on at least a monthly basis to the principal investigators
  • Prepares data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting and weighing the raw data
  • Develops and manages project databases
  • Provides graphical content and copy editing for materials prepared by principal investigators and other scientists on the team
  • Coordinates meetings and develop agendas
  • Supports requests by research program team members on issues related to general and technical support, document creation, grants submission and other administrative duties.
  • Assists Scientists in the creation and development of presentations highlighting research achievements for both lay and professional audiences discussing scientific contributions of our research programs.
  • Creates tables and figures for manuscripts.
  • Maintains files for manuscripts in preparation, review, and reprints
  • Maintains files for grants in preparation, review, and resubmissions
  • Creates metrics reports for supervisor and team members, for use in grant applications and departmental reporting.
  • Identifies and communicates grant opportunities to Principal Investigator consistent with program goals and objectives
  • Develop and manages grant budgets that are accurate and consistent with granting agencies’ standards and protocols, in conjunction with the Research Project Manager II
  • Creates graphical conceptualizations of project timelines, organizational hierarchies and objectives
  • Ensures principal investigators have a clear understanding of requirements and procedures for grant applications
  • Supports principal investigators in the development of grants and is responsible for the submission of grants
  • Revises, develops and implements procedures and policies related to project management and reporting
  • Maintains all files related to research projects.
  • Coordinates communications with research assistants, coordinators, statistical analysts, trainees, and Scientists at other sites
  • Tracks and manages all aspects of the grant and manuscript submission process.
  • Reviews Data Transfer Agreements and Research Agreements with investigators and other internal and external stakeholders (research service departments, external study sites, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigators
  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    Degree: Bachelor’s degree

    Discipline(s): Health and Health Policy Administration

    Required skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience and demonstrated success in a research setting
  • High level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed time management skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to complete the collective goals of the team
  • Strong judgment and decision making
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio
  • Excellent knowledge of grant funding requirements
  • Experience managing multiple projects and budgets
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Additional assets

  • Knowledge of aging related research
