Research Associate, Data Scientist, Market Research
Overview
We are looking for a versatile and ambitious Research Associate to join our Toronto team. The Research Associate provides statistical and research support services to internal research teams and external clients. The role focuses on compiling, processing, formatting, and summarizing data for integration into reports and presentations. The position supports research managers and directors by conducting statistical routines, monitoring trends, and preparing structured data outputs for review.
Responsibilities- Support the design and execution of quantitative research projects
- Compile tables, charts, graphs, and summarized statistics for integration into research reports and client presentations
- Prepare formatted cross-tabulations and summary datasets for internal review
- Develop structured databooks and reporting templates for quantitative studies
- Process survey and behavioral datasets using statistical software including Q, SPSS, Excel, R, or Python to conduct basic analyses of trends in support of research activities
- Conduct basic statistical routines such as weighting, frequency distributions, cross-tabulations, and trend comparisons
- Monitor trends in recurring survey programs and prepare draft summaries of findings
- Collect, consolidate, and cross-reference data from multiple sources including survey platforms and behavioral datasets to prepare draft reports for review by supervisors
- Track project-level data inputs and maintain organized documentation for audit and reporting purposes
- Help develop and refine AI-driven tools and workflows, including training our proprietary AI tool for research support
- Clean, process, and merge datasets across sources (survey, behavioral, etc.)
- Collaborate with researchers to create compelling and visual client deliverables
- Assist in preparing research summaries, slide decks, and visual materials based on compiled statistics
- Assist in collection and tracking of data and provide information to management
- Assist in proposal development, questionnaire design, and data QC
- Support internal and client-facing teams by providing structured data outputs and formatted reporting materials
- Contribute to project management by helping coordinate timelines and deliverables
- Participate in internal project meetings and support coordination across research, data, and operations teams
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Statistics, Marketing Analytics, Economics, or a related field is required
- 1–2 years of professional experience in quantitative research, statistical support, or data analytics within a fast-paced research or consulting environment is required
- Experience processing and tabulating survey research datasets using statistical software (Q, R, Python)
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data formatting tools
- Experience with survey research datasets
- Experience in applying statistical weighting techniques and conducting frequency distributions, cross-tabs, and basic trend analyses to ensure data accuracy and representativeness
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines
- Committed to continuous improvement, automation of reporting workflows, and maintaining high standards of research quality and accuracy

Compensation: $75,000 CAD / year
