About KL-CAREThe Kunin‑Lunenfeld Centre for Applied Research & Evaluation (KL‑CARE) is a support and services hub at the RRI that is focused on working with healthcare professionals, researchers, trainees, non‑profits and commercial partners to facilitate and support clinical, applied and evaluative research at Baycrest and beyond.
Role OverviewThe Research Assistant’s role is to work on a diverse portfolio of research and evaluation projects in the aging and brain health space.
Responsibilities- Literature reviews
- Assisting with participant recruitment and informed consent activities
- Medical chart review & data abstraction
- Assisting with the collection, management and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
- Conducting neuropsychological assessments and/or neuroimaging data collection
- Assisting with database creation & maintenance
- Assisting with preparation of written materials: focus group/interview guides, research ethics board applications, consent forms, manuscripts, research reports, poster and presentation submissions
- Engagement with the lead investigators, research team and clinical providers throughout the research process
- Completion of a
B.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience or Health Sciences related discipline combined with at least one (1) year of relevant research - Experience with applying a client‑centred approach to interacting and working with patient populations, particularly older adults
- Experience in quantitative research, including conducting basic data analyses using common statistical software such as SPSS
- Experience with neuropsychological testing
- Experience with neuroimaging data collection and analysis is an asset
- Experience in qualitative research data coding & analysis using common software such as NVivo is an asset
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using research databases and reference management software is considered an asset
- Detail‑oriented, accurate, dependable and adaptable individual, able to work independently
The target hiring range is $39,873 to $54,826 per year. The starting salary will be determined using factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant education and experience, market conditions and internal equity.
