Description
Join Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital’s Autism Research Centre and be part of an interdisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and trainees dedicated to improving outcomes and quality of life for children with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Working within the Autism Research Centre and alongside an interdisciplinary research team, you will be part of various projects focused on improving the quality of care for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
The successful applicant will coordinate several projects involving the linking of research and administrative data in neurodevelopmental and rare genetic conditions, while supporting day to day lab procedures.

Key Responsibilities- Conduct literature reviews and keep current with study literature
- Perform/assist with data entry, data cleaning, and analysis
- Assist in knowledge translation activities including development/preparation of promotional materials/newsletters, manuscripts, posters, and presentations
- Assist in the development of data collection forms and/or questionnaires
- Assist with applications and approvals for health administrative data research bringing in project specific data
- Assist in the development of informed consent documents based on regulations, REB consent templates and institutional requirements
- Assist with database design and variable harmonization, in conjunction with Principal Investigator and other study staff
- Submit to REB and assist in coordinating revisions
- Assist Principal Investigator (PI) with annual approval process and amend protocols and consents as required
- Develop and monitor timelines for study
- Maintain research equipment
- Maintain budget records
- Co-supervision (with PI) of research assistants, trainees, & volunteers
- Assist in training/orientation of new research staff
- Keep abreast of regulations and policies governing research (e.g.TCPS-2, ICH GCP, Health Canada & FDA)
- Aid in the development policies and procedures related to the research program, ensuring external regulations and guidelines are followed
- Assist PI in new research proposals and preparation of grant applications/reporting; contribute to preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts
- Master’s degree in Neuroscience, Health Science, Psychology, Epidemiology, or a related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3 years related experience in research or clinical work
- Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and organizational skills
- Function independently yet collaboratively within a team
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with statistical software packages and data analysis methods an asset
- Knowledge of rare genetic conditions an asset
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
