Position: Student (SRI) - Biological Sciences - Temporary Full-time 2026-16348 (2026-16348)

The Biological Sciences Platform (BSP) at the Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto, Ontario, has an opening for a summer student.

Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI) is one of the world’s premier academic medical research centres, renowned for its work in medical imaging, biology, and clinical evaluative sciences. As part of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, SRI is dedicated to advancing health care through pioneering research and partnerships that translate scientific discoveries into clinical practice.

Program Overview

The SRI Summer Student Research Program provides undergraduate students with a unique hospital-based research experience and showcases the postgraduate environment as a prospective career. The program runs from May to late August and includes regular seminars where leading faculty talk about their research and a poster competition in August where students present their work.

Responsibilities
  • Operate under the supervision of a designated scientist on a research or development project.
  • Perform a range of tasks with opportunities to work in different on-site environments, enhance technical and analytical competencies, and improve scientific communication skills.
  • Attend regular seminars and the Summer Student Poster Competition.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate students in health sciences, biomedical engineering, life sciences, or related disciplines in a recognized Canadian university program.
  • High academic standing and demonstrated interest in research and sciences as a possible future career.
