Creating and posting adverts to recruit community partners and study participantsPerforming mixed methods data analyses including collecting qualitative (narrative interviews) and quantitative data (online surveys)Coordinating study activities including (monitoring study timelines, maintaining a recruitment tracking database with detailed notes, reporting weekly progress)Preparing Research Ethics Board protocol submissions and Data Access AgreementsAssisting in the preparation of Indigenous knowledge translation activities (preparing reports, formatting manuscripts, conference presentation materials and stakeholder documents)Scheduling and participating in team meetings, including writing minutesRecording or verifying transactions for the projectEssential
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in public health, community development, mental health, indigenous studies or related disciplines, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum two (2) years of relevant research work experience, including experience working with Indigenous community partners and applying Indigenous research methodologies, data collection, data management and analysisDemonstrated experience coordinating capacity-building, research and knowledge translation projects that require collaboration with diverse project partnersDemonstrated project management and research knowledge, experience and methodologies in relation to Indigenous community projectsDemonstrated experience working and collaborating with Indigenous leaders, communities, and/or organizationsExperience in database management, quality control, qualitative and/or quantitative analysis with an emphasis on Indigenous ethicsExperience and proficiency with organizing data, meetings, and minute-takingExperience with assisting with Research Ethics Boards and grant applicationsExperience with data analysis and management software (nVivo, Qualtrics, etc.) and Microsoft Office SuiteStrong communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational skills, time management andproblem-solving skills with the ability to meet conflicting priorities and balance multiple projectsDemonstrates initiative and possesses a strong commitment to research work with a strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detailStrong planning, project management skills with excellent prioritization and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently, show initiative and good judgment, and be an effective team memberMust have a solid understanding of Indigenous affairs, health, and cultural traditional knowledgesExperience working in a culturally-safe Indigenous academic environmentClient-services oriented with demonstrated listening and critical thinking skills with the ability to learn new skillsAbility to maintain a broad perspective; ability to foster and maintain effective relationships with all levelsAbility to travel overnight on occasion to conferencesAssets (Nonessential):
