Export Development Canada (EDC) is seeking a motivated Master’s or PhD candidate for its Economic & Political Intelligence Centre. This 8-month hybrid role focuses on integrative trade, requiring strong analytical skills and the ability to manage projects independently. You will work closely with senior economists to contribute to impactful research that informs Canada’s trade performance and global competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent research on integrative trade issues

• Refine research questions and analytical frameworks

• Source and clean data from governmental databases

• Design econometric models and interpret data results

• Prepare presentations and final reports for internal discussions

Requirements:

• Enrolled in or completed Master’s/PhD in relevant fields

• Experience with international trade concepts and datasets

• Proven project management skills in research

• Strong quantitative and analytical expertise

• Proficient in statistical programming tools like R or Python
