We are seeking two motivated, detail‑oriented Research Technicians to join the laboratory team focused on fibrosis‑related diseases. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience in primary cell culture and foundational laboratory techniques such as Western blot, RT‑qPCR, and ELISA, who is eager to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a collaborative research environment. Experience handling small animals is a plus.
Duties- In vitro screening (ELISA, WB, rt‑qPCR) of compounds synthesized by collaborators in multiple primary cells.
- Maintain cell lines and prepare reagents.
- Collect and record experimental data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Organize laboratory materials, maintain inventory, and participate in lab chores.
- Enter and maintain accurate data in laboratory databases and shared records.
- Follow established laboratory safety guidelines and work under the direction of senior staff.
- Handle biological materials, chemicals, and equipment in compliance with safety protocols.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe and orderly work environment.
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a health or science related discipline;
Master’s degree an asset. - Minimum six months of relevant hands‑on experience in cell culture, biochemistry, or related laboratory techniques.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture (cancer or primary).
- Experience with biochemistry techniques such as Western blot, RT‑qPCR, and ELISA.
- Ability to follow established protocols with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong record‑keeping and data‑entry skills.
- Experience isolating primary cells from mouse or human tissue – asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to laboratory safety practices.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn new techniques.
- Prior experience handling small animals – asset.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good communication and presentation skills (MS Office proficiency).
