Founding Technical Advisor – Advanced Materials R&D at Auvrix Energy

Location

Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid/Remote)

Overview

Auvrix Energy is seeking a Founding Technical Advisor to work directly with the Founder and CEO to shape the company's technical strategy, evaluate research opportunities, and establish the long‑term innovation roadmap.

Responsibilities
  • Help shape technical vision, innovation strategy, and long‑term technology roadmap.
  • Evaluate scientific and engineering challenges, identify high‑value research opportunities, and define technical pathways with industrial impact.
  • Establish R&D priorities, technical focus areas, and future research programs in advanced materials, thermal management, infrastructure reliability, extreme‑environment technologies, and future industrial systems.
  • Assess emerging technologies, technical risks, and innovation opportunities with strong scientific and commercial potential.
  • Provide technical leadership in evaluating research directions, technical feasibility, development pathways, and future intellectual property opportunities.
  • Support the development of the technical foundation, including research frameworks, technology roadmaps, and product & technology development strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with universities, research institutions, laboratories, industry partners, innovation organizations, and technical experts.
  • Contribute to intellectual property strategy, technology assessment, commercialization planning, and long‑term innovation initiatives.
  • Represent the company in technical discussions with researchers, industry stakeholders, innovation partners, and potential collaborators.
  • Provide strategic technical guidance to support innovation, company growth, and long‑term value creation.
  • Support recruitment, mentorship, and future development of scientific and engineering talent.
  • Transform promising technical opportunities into commercially viable technologies, products, and businesses.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial R&D, advanced technology development, materials innovation, engineering, product development, or technology commercialization.
  • Master's degree or PhD preferred in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate technical opportunities from both scientific and commercial perspectives.
  • Experience translating research concepts into practical technologies, products, processes, or commercial applications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial and early‑stage environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
