Forensic Scientist at Centre of Forensic Sciences

Contribute to Ontario's justice system as a Forensic Scientist at the Centre of Forensic Sciences. In this role, you will utilize advanced forensic techniques to analyze evidence and present findings in court.

As a key member of the Biology Section, you'll oversee forensic testing, interpret complex data, and prepare detailed reports. This role requires your expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics, and it offers opportunities for mentoring junior staff as well as participating in research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct examinations for blood, fluids, and DNA detection

• Prepare comprehensive written test reports

• Present scientific findings as an expert witness

• Mentor junior staff and participate in training

• Engage in research and developmental initiatives

Requirements:

• Honours B.A./B.Sc. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics

• Knowledge of forensic science methods and instrumentation

• Strong communication skills for presenting complex data

• Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment

• Understanding of quality assurance in forensic services
