Join SYSTRA Canada as an Archaeological Specialist focused on cultural heritage management in Ontario. Utilize your expertise in archaeological assessments and regulations to lead meaningful projects.
In this role, your primary mission will be to manage and lead archaeological assessments for large-scale projects across Ontario. You will need 7 to 10 years of solid experience to direct investigations while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with Indigenous communities, integrating heritage considerations into project designs, and enhancing public awareness of archaeological findings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee cultural heritage assessments and archaeological work
• Liaise with project teams, government, and community stakeholders
• Develop and implement archaeological management plans
• Conduct potential assessments for linear infrastructure projects
• Facilitate communication on archaeological discoveries
Requirements:
• Degree in archaeology or cultural heritage
• 7 to 10 years of professional experience in similar projects
• Expertise in GIS tools and data synthesis
• Familiarity with legal frameworks and heritage management
• Strong organizational and communication skills
