Ontario Archaeologist - Heritage Conservation

Protect Ontario's heritage as an Archaeologist with Ontario Heritage Trust. You'll lead archaeological initiatives while fostering public understanding through education and outreach programs.
This role focuses on managing archaeological projects from start to finish, involving supervision of multiple teams and compliance with relevant legislation. Your expertise will contribute to artifact management, public outreach, and the development of archaeological practices and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee archaeological fieldwork and research planning
• Supervise and mentor staff, students, and volunteers
• Provide technical advice and ensure projects meet legal standards
• Manage artifact collections, including cataloguing and documentation
• Develop outreach initiatives to educate the public on archaeology
Requirements:
• Must possess a valid class G driver's license or equivalent
• Required eligibility for Professional Archaeologist licence
• Post-graduate qualifications in archaeology, anthropology, or related field
• Experience in leading archaeological practices within Ontario
• Ability to conduct fieldwork and travel across the province
