Job Description
The Laboratory of Behavioural Neuroendocrinology at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Scientific Associate to support a research program focused on sex and gender differences in brain health, mental health, aging, and neurodegenerative disease. Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Scientific Associate will provide senior scientific support through the development and execution of research projects, secondary data analyses, competitive grant proposals, scientific manuscripts, reports, presentations, and knowledge translation resources related to sex- and gender-based analysis, women's health, and translational research.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PI), the Scientific Associate will provide senior scientific support through the development and execution of research projects, secondary data analyses, competitive grant proposals, scientific manuscripts, reports, presentations, and knowledge translation resources related to sex- and gender-based analysis, women's health, and translational research.
The successful candidate will contribute expertise in clinical research methods, epidemiology, health data science, and secondary data analysis, including the integration, harmonization, and analysis of large-scale clinical, population-based, and longitudinal datasets. The incumbent will support research investigating biological, social, and environmental factors influencing brain health, cognitive aging, mental health, and neurodegenerative disease, with a focus on sex-specific risk factors, prevention, and personalized approaches to women's health.
The Scientific Associate will advance the application of Sex- and Gender-Based Analysis Plus (SGBA+) across research design, analysis, interpretation, and knowledge translation, while contributing to data-driven frameworks and evidence-based approaches that improve understanding of women's health across the lifespan. The successful candidate will contribute to grant strategy, collaborative research initiatives, and scientific communication while providing mentorship and guidance to trainees and research staff in research methodology, data analysis, scientific writing, and professional development.
They will maintain high standards of scientific integrity, data governance, reproducibility, and responsible conduct of research. This position is primarily based at the CAMH 250 College Street Site, with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements in accordance with operational requirement.
- Lead and contribute to the development, implementation, and execution of research projects related to sex and gender differences in brain health, mental health, aging, and neurodegenerative disease.
- Conduct secondary data analyses, including data management, harmonization, quality assessment, statistical modelling, and interpretation of complex health datasets.
- Apply epidemiological, clinical research, and data science methodologies to investigate biological, social, and environmental determinants of health outcomes.
- Integrate Sex- and Gender-Based Analysis Plus (SGBA+) principles into research design, analysis, interpretation, and knowledge translation activities.
- Prepare and contribute to scientific manuscripts, grant applications, research reports, presentations, and knowledge translation materials.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams, trainees, and external partners to support research initiatives and scientific communication.
- Mentor and provide guidance to trainees and research staff in research methods, data analysis, scientific writing, and professional development.
